Our office assistant is available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.
Pastor Carrie is generally available on Mondays all day and Wednesday mornings in the office. Appointments are encouraged if you wish to meet with Pastor Carrie at other times. Please call (815)569-2480 to speak with the pastor.
Capron Lutheran Church is a 165 year old congregation conveniently located on Route 173 between Harvard and Poplar Grove. We are a small town church founded by Norwegian immigrants and farmers. Today, however, our members live and work in Rockford and Chicago as well as on the farms surrounding the church.
Do you work on the weekends? We worship together on Wednesday evenings as well as Sunday mornings. There are three Bible study opportunities throughout the week, as well as a full Sunday school program. Once a month, youth of all ages meet for a meal and activity before Wednesday night worship.
We reach out to others by supporting the Boone County/Belvidere Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, sending quilts to Lutheran World Relief, and sponsoring a portion of Route 173 for IDOT cleanup. We have a 7,000 square foot community garden which supports our local food pantries.
Members of this faith community join together for events like an annual outdoor picnic and worship service, an annual pig roast, selling Pioneer Fries at the Pioneer Festival, and a Holiday Baked Goods Auction with a real auctioneer. We love to eat together, and there’s always enough room for new friends at the table!
